dewhurst flower farm

Designing a heartfelt brand identity and packaging for a flower farm in Ontario, Canada, empowering the owner to launch confidently and concentrate on other areas of the business.

Dewhurst Flowers is a Canadian flower farm specializing in dried flower confetti for weddings and special events. After identifying a gap in the market, Kristen recognized the need for help in bringing her brand vision to life and gaining the confidence to move forward. Her story is heartfelt and deeply meaningful, and it was important to me to reflect on the sustainability, care, and attention behind her product while also honouring her late mother.

We developed a vintage, rustic-inspired brand identity applied to packaging, thank-you cards, and custom wax seals, allowing customers to personalize their confetti purchases.

Launching a product can be overwhelming, but Kristen found relief in being able to focus on other areas of her business. She felt reassured knowing her brand was beautifully designed with the messaging, clarity, and confidence she needed to launch successfully.

Seven different stylized flower illustrations in a row with varying colors from cream to pink.
A collage on a light background features photos of sunflowers, a woman dining outdoors, and various floral designs, with color swatches in shades of orange, beige, and green, and handwritten notes attached with tape.

Design notes

To achieve a handcrafted vintage feel, we incorporated a handwritten script typeface and added a stamp-like texture to the logos and icons. These subtle imperfections capture the essence of a hand-grown, hand-crafted product.

The colour palette features rustic, natural tones inspired by the strawflowers grown by Kristen, thoughtfully designed to distinguish the brand from industry competitors.

Design notes

The cursive D in the logo represents Dewhurst but also honours the initial of Kristen’s mother’s name who was a big inspiration behind her business.

I highly recommend Kind Design to anyone looking for a personal connection to a designer who listens & looking to have a calm and supportive experience while having their vision met.

Shaylyn met my vision in a very stress-free, communicative, and open-to-feedback way. She was thoughtful about what was presented and why - which you can see reflected in the design.
